Shanghai Plastics Research Institute was established in July 1963. It is an institute established foremost in China for fluoroplastic processing and application research. In the past 40 years, 170 research projects were appraised and a great number of various fluoroplastic products and new materials were provided for and applied in national defense construction, scientific research and various industries. There are more than 220 staff and workers in the Institute, of which nearly 100 are engineers and technicians. “ Shanghai Quality Supervision and Inspection Centre of Chemical Products, Plastics Station ” granted by Shanghai Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau was set up in the Institute and obtained the certificate of National – Level Laboratory issued by China National Accreditation Committee for Laboratory. The Institute also passed the accreditation of GB/T 19001-2000 (equal to ISO 9001) . Since 1993, the Institute has remained the title of “ Hi – Tech Enterprise ”up to now.
    The PTFE, FEP, PFA products and PVB film developed and produced by the Institute have been widely used in the fields of biochemical, pharmaceutical, IT, electronics, machinery, chemical, textile, construction and construction material industry, etc.
